I recently discovered that Capt. Jim Weiser with Fins and Feathers Outfitters is a world-class guide for waterfowling. I was privileged to hunt with Jim in January and his services before, during, and after the hunt were the best I’ve ever experienced. I’ve used guides all along the East Coast and they have all been good; but, Capt. Jim has raised the bar to a whole new level. Hunting with Jim is like going to the sea duck supermarket! We gave him our trophy list of long tail, surf scoter, common scoter, bluebill, and brant. In day one of our two-day hunt we scratched them all off our list with gorgeous wall-hanger specimens. Getting to hunt with his first mate Scott and his black lab Hank were the cherry on the top. This was by far my best hunt ever and I’ve already booked with Capt. Jim for next year’s waterfowl season.

Had a great time with fins and feathers dec 18 and 19th being from colorado never shot a duck before had jim as a client this past year and he talked me into hunting ducks with him in dec what a hoot it was had a sore shoulder for a week after the hunt lots of ducks and lots of misses would recommend this hunt to anyone who likes to shoot jim and hank [hank being the smarter one] hank being the retriever is a top notch hunt. thanks again jim and hank for the awsome hunt

Captain Jim put us into some excellent brant hunting, and well as some quick shooting at those little speedy flying buffle heads. We had a large group with six of us but everyone was able to get in a lot of shooting and even did a little missing. We limited out on brant each day and one member of our group was able to collect an old squaw which he was very excited about. Hammerin Hank was ready and up to the task to get every bird that hit the water. We had a lot of laughs and we look forward to trying to get together for more shooting on some snow geese. We booked an elk hunt and had jim guide for us. unfortunitly we had some horse issues and Jim walked us out of the mountain about 10 miles. you took what many would have considered an epic failure and turned it into a lifelong memory. You have the natural ability to coax the best out of your client while making them feel special. in addition, you aptly communicate with the quarry incitating curiosity and/or fury to insure hunter sucess. Although we didn’t come home with an elk, we will always have special memories of the time spent in the outdoors with you. You have a gift!

I have been duck hunting with guides for a long time and most of them over promise and under deliver. Jim and Scotty with Fins and Feathers Outfitters is what a hunting guide should be. He will do everything he can to get you into the ducks and make sure you have a great trip. Having a guide that scouts and has current equipment in working order makes your time out about shooting birds. If you have never hunted out of a layout boat were the ducks almost land on you, it is something amazing you need to try. Can’t wait to come back next year.
